Become an ACHCA Fellow

ACHCA Fellowship is an honor bestowed on the best of our profession. Members may apply and be recognized by their distinguished contributions to the field of long term care administration through such avenues as education, publications, teaching, contributing to the public awareness of long term care, leadership of professional organizations, involvement in civic and community organizations, serving as a board member or officer of an ACHCA chapter and attending the national Convocation.

Why should you become an ACHCA Fellow?

  • Obtaining and maintaining the FACHCA distinction sets you apart from your peers.
  • It is a required designation for serving in ACHCA leadership positions such as a mentor in the Mentoring Program or an officer of the Board of Directors.
  • Fellow status indicates your professional achievement and continuous adherence to the ethical and professional standards of ACHCA. 
The nationally recognized Fellow status is a step in your career that confirms your dedication to the post-acute and aging services community.


Advancement to Fellow requires:

  • A record of active participation in fulfilling the professional and educational requirements of ACHCA;
  • Suitable formal education;
  • Professional, civic and community activities; and
  • At least two years of continuous voting membership in ACHCA

How to Advance to Fellow:

  • Download the Advancement to Fellow application (PDF format) and mail to ACHCA, Advancement to Fellow, 1300 Piccard Drive, Suite LL14 Rockville, MD 20850.

The Advancement to Fellow non-refundable application fee is $275.00.  Options for payment include (a) mailing a check with the completed printed application or (b) ACHCA National will send an invoice for payment upon receipt of the application.

Fellow Emeritus is a lifetime award and may be conferred by the Board of Directors on an individual who is retiring from active participation in the field of health care, has maintained the status of Fellow for more than 20 years, and has rendered distinguished service to the profession and ACHCA.  Fellow Emeritus shall pay $100 and shall have all rights and privileges of voting full membership.  Click here to download the application.

A 2012 salary survey conducted by ADVANCE Magazine (January/February 2012 issue) and ACHCA showed that a Fellow makes an average $23,808 more per year than their administrator peers without the ACHCA Fellow status.
