The Impact Act: Bundled and Episode Payment Models (2.0 CEUs) – 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Regulatory changes and reimbursement is tied to the IMPACT Act of 2014. These changes dictate the need to understand CMS’ plan for shifting Medicare beneficiaries away from traditional care and reimbursement models into bundled (BPCI) and episode payment models (EPMs). CJR is an example of an episode payment model; expanding in 2017 based on CMS’ proposal, EPMs will add surgical treatment of hip and femur fractures (SHFFT) to the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model (CJR) and create new EPMs in the cardiac services of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures and acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In this presentation, Aegis Therapies’ presenters will highlight the influence of the IMPACT Act and walk through the alternatives including implications for providers.

ADRs, Denials and Appeals Updates (1.0 CEU) – 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.

As CMS toughens its claims scrutiny, your organization may be subject to an increase in medical reviews. This presentation gives you a better understanding of the medical review and appeal process so you can be more efficient in the submission of ADRs and the appealing of denials.
