Call for Candidates for 2018 Elections!

ACHCA wants you!  Here is your chance to help lead the association dedicated to furthering the profession of post-acute and long term care administration. 

Candidate applications may be downloaded from the ACHCA website or submitted online.

ACHCA is currently seeking leaders to serve in the following leadership positions:

  • At Large Directors (2)
  • Directors from District 3 and 4
  • Nominating Committee Members (3)

Qualified candidates for Director shall have been ACHCA Voting Members in good standing for at least the immediately preceding two years, and a Fellow of ACHCA. The Board of Directors may identify additional qualifications for Directors. [ACHCA Bylaws as of 2013]

  • Directors who specifically represent a designated area or membership group shall be elected by plurality vote of the Voting Members voting from that designated area or membership group as assisted by the national ACHCA office. [ACHCA Bylaws as of 2013]

  • The chance to exchange ideas and perspectives with other volunteer leaders.

ACHCA values and seeks diverse leadership. It seeks leaders from various backgrounds and from all types and sizes of eligible organizations. The Board has identified a number of desired attributes that will be part of the selection process for new Board members:

  • Demonstrated leadership commitment and involvement with ACHCA and the ACHCA chapter network.  Examples include but are not limited to service on an ACHCA committee or task force, district meeting, and chapter functions/committees.
  • Commitment to professional development through achieving the FACHCA designation; the Committee also considers if a candidate has earned the CNHA or CALA credential. 
  • Recognized leader in the post-acute and long term care community. Examples include but are not limited to serving as the chair of an Allied Society or philanthropic organization.
  • Relevant expertise in the disciplines of organizational management. Examples include but are not limited to branding, fundraising, chapter relations, finance, and strategic alliances.
  • Board members are asked to commit to participate in 2-3 in person in board meetings a year. Board members are asked to provide funds for their own travel expenses to these meetings.
  • Positive leadership attributes, emotional intelligence, ability to work collaboratively, and engage in appropriate debate and discussion when needed.
  • Visionary and strategic thinker. Demonstrated ability of new and innovative programs within their sphere of influence. Examples include but are not limited to incorporating strategy, leadership, future focus, risk taking, and an entrepreneur spirit.
